1. Measure Window Depth
Start by measuring the depth of your window frame from the top where the brackets will be installed. lf the frame depth is under 2.4" or if there's an obstruction like a lever or crank, consider opting for an outside mount.
2. Measure Window Width
Take three horizontal measurements: at the top, middle, and bottom of your window frame, from left to right, should these measurements vary, select the smallest one as your window width, No need for deductions on your part; We will subtract 1/8" during the manufacturing process of your shades.
3. Measure Window Height
You’ll need to record three separate measurements, each from top to bottom. Measure the left, center, and right sides of window frame. If these measurements differ, use the longest measurement of the three as your window height.
1. Measure Surface Area
Check the area above your window frame or molding to verify there's at least 2" of flat vertical space available for mounting the head rail. Mark the spot where you intend to install the top of your shades.
2. Measure Window Height
Starting from the mark you made (indicating the top), measure downward to the bottom of the window, For optimal light control and privacy, ensure there is a minimum overlap of 3".
3. Measure Window Width
Record the desired width of your shades by measuring horizontally from left to right. For standard shades, an overlap of at least 3" to 6" is suggested. For outdoor shades & roller shades, aim for a minimum of 2" overlap. lf wall obstructions are present, consider using extension brackets to allow the blinds to extend sufficiently clear of these impediments.
